Why "Christ Church"

Okay,

You are new to Christ Church Baptist. Maybe you are new to the Rockwall community. Maybe even new to "church." Maybe you are even new to the whole idea of following Jesus. Well, welcome. You belong here.

We hope you will want to come visit with us, but you might have some questions first. So, here are a few answers for newcomers. If you have other questions, please let us know. We'll get right back with an answer.

What time and where?

Worship is at 11:00 am on Sunday mornings.

Bible Study small groups (aka Sunday School) meet at 9:45 on Sundays and we are always eager to welcome guests. Other small groups called "Living Rooms" meet during the week throughout the year. You can also check the calendar for more information about other activities and special events.

Where are you located?

We are located at 749 Justin Rd. in Rockwall. We are currently leasing a space from the Rockwall School of Music. For map and driving directions click here.

What are the people like?

People from many backgrounds and experiences come to Christ Church and everyone is welcome. It's often said that Christ Church is one of the most hospitable churches around. It's a great place to not get lost in the shuffle, too! Just FYI (because some people ask): there's no "dress code," and on Sunday mornings you will see a mix of slacks, jeans, jackets, skirts/dresses. Wear what you like. We're more concerned with getting to know you as a person (and a child of God) than what you wear.

What is a service like?

Worship services can be described as "tradition with a twist." Worship at Christ Church blends tradition and creativity. On a given Sunday you are likely to experience inspiring music, stimulating preaching, silence, art meditation, guided prayers, Holy Communion, meaningful reading of Scripture, or something completely different. Worship is designed to keep us renewed each week and encourage us on our journey with God. It's not really about us after all anyway. It's about encountering and being transformed by the presence of God. You'll be handed a printed order of worship that will guide you through the service.

Will I be singled out as a visitor?

You won't be singled out as a visitor, but you will be warmly welcomed. Greeters will give you a worship order. Plus, attached to the worship guide is a Connection Card tab you can tear off if you wish, fill out, and drop in the offering plate. You will also be given a guest bag after worship full of good stuff.

What do you have for my child?

On Sundays, we have Bible studies and faith formation for preschoolers and elementary-aged children. During worship, children through pre-k stay in the nursery with caring volunteers. Families are encouraged to be in worship together, so kindergarteners and older stay in the worship service with you.
